There is now a certain sigh of relief that a new scale of fees for loss adjusters will emerge. The certainty of this was made public by the Chairman, Nigerian Insurers Association NIA, Mr. Kunle Ahmed in Lagos recently.
Ahmed said the committee of both the NIA and the Institute of Loss Adjusters ILAN were already working on a reversed scale of fees and the end of May has been fixed to conclude the negotiations.
“We are engaging ILAN to review the adjusters fees. The task is being handled by the deputy chairman of NIA, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu and her committee. I expect that we should put this to bed by the end of next month,” he assured.
When this is done, the new scale of fees would be coming 33years after the 1992 deal both bodies cleared as professional fees for loss adjusters.
