President Muhammadu Buhari, has presented a letter to the Senate seeking Senate’s approval for the appointment of Mrs. Aisha Umar, as the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom).
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, today, read Buhari’s letter, seeking Umar’s confirmation as the substantive DG of the agency was read by Senate PresidentAhmad Lawan.
The letter also named Oyindasola Oni as Chairman of the agency. Others nominated as Commissioners are Hannatu Musa (North West); Clement Oyedele Akintola (South West); Ayim C. Nyerere (South East); and Charles Efe Sylvester Emukowhale (South-South).
PenCom on its Facebook page published, ‘THE PROVISIONS OF THE PENSION REFORM ACT 2014 GOVERNING APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF THE NATIONAL PENSION COMMISSION’ also laid to rest issues surrounding the removal of Mrs. Amazu as PenCom DG and which geopolitical zone should replace her and the submission of PenCom was that the actions of the President were within the limits of PRA 2014.
