President Muhammadu Buhari receives in courtesy visit the Governing Council of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) in State House today, 14th October 2021.
President Buhari was honoured and presented with the highest recognition (pictured) as Grand Patron of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) by( R-L): CIIN President Sir Muftau Oyegunle (R) and Commissioner for Insurance Mr. Sunday Thomas (L) at the State House when the governing council of the institute paid a courtesy visit to the President in State House on 14th Oct 2021.
Buhari earned the award because of his sustained interest in the industry, he also commended the institute for bringing sanity to the industry and its visibility in national development and said that the visibility will continue to soar when more Nigerians and businesses are covered and benefit from the services they offer.
Empathising with the operators on their low penetration state, he said the industry needed to do more to deflate the misconceptions about insurance pay claims and bring more into the insurance net. His wave of appreciation for the N500 million support during the pandemic still roared at the State House and urged them to sustain the collaborative effort and social development growth they have created.
Responding, the CIIN president Sir Oyegunle lauded the government initiatives especially the social development programmes that have impacted on Nigerians, and solicited government inclusion of insurance in its initiative to guarantee sustainability
