Kano State government left no one in doubt yesterday, December 8, 2021, that it is ready for the new face of insurance. It raised the establishing banner of this accompli by assembling the state governance machinery to the sensitisation workshop for top government functionaries and all local government chairmen on implementation and enforcement of compulsory insurances.
Jolted but calm National Insurance Commission led by the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Sunday Thomas could not keep his contentment out of the way. He comments, “Permit me to say that insurance industry has never been this proud that an entire state has come to a stand still this morning as the machineries of the state are all here for this launching of the new face of insurance in Kano State.”
To impress this in the sand of time, NAICOM boss implored Governor Umar Ganduje not to stop at the up spiralling interest in insurance but “lead by example by ensuring that it adequately protects its assets and liabilities by effecting appropriate insurance covers.”
