Nigerian Insurers Association NIA finally accepts to negotiate a new adjusters fees more than three decades since the subsisting agreement was signed by NIA and the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria ILAN.
NIA readiness to discuss new fees with Loss Adjusters was disclosed to ILAN members yesterday at the maiden open confab organised by ILAN and ongoing at Orchids Hotel Lekki, Lagos. The new posture of NIA was rousingly welcomed by delegates at the confab who would no longer scratch their heads waiting for the nod from NIA for readiness to negotiate new fees, but now look to a couple of months to come to get improved fees for their professional services.
The insurers body said all steps to put the long outstanding issue behind them has been taking by them and the Committee assembled to discuss with ILAN counterpart has the mandate to clear the obstacles, discuss, collaborate and pass the agreement to the regulator for their oversight.
