The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria CIIN has opened talks with the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, to recognise the certificate issued by the Nigerian counterpart, as exchangeable certificate that can be tendered to secure job just as it applies to the CII certificate in Nigeria.
The CIIN president Sir Muftau Oyegunle, disclosed this at the post year 2021 AGM press conference at the Institute secretariat at Ebute-Metta, Lagos, stating that Council is not limiting it to the United Kingdom but wants it to apply to other climes ultimately.
Oyegunle said talks are at preliminary stage now and moving and is optimistic that the present level of discussion would lead to actualisation which he commented is the ambition of the CIIN. He adds that the initial talks got off the starting blocks because of the healthy relationship both institutes have maintained over the years.
The press conference which also marked the unveiling of the second edition, “Insurance Text Book For Senior Secondary Schools And Colleges In Nigeria” made known the level the CIIN has reached in domesticating insurance course books
