The Nigerian Insurers Association has expressed its deep condolences to the bereaved families in the helicopter crash last Friday night in the United States leading to the deaths of the Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife and son and a former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo.
In the statement by the Chairman NIA, Olusegun Omosehin, the Association condoles the bereaved families, and the entire Access Holdings Group during this period of grief.
The NIA noted that late Wigwe was a successful banker, a great patriot, and an important voice in the financial sector, who made huge contributions to the development of Nigeria’s economy.
It said his passing is truly a loss to the financial sector, and the country as a whole, and prayed that the Almighty God will grant then families strength to bear the pain of the untimely deaths.
