The new Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin has hit the road with the full responsibilities of the CFI along with two deputy CFI, DCTGam-Ikon(R) and DCF Jankara (L). Mr Sunday Thomas immediate past CFI exit today as Omosehin takes helm.
The hand over ceremony was held at the NAICOM head office at Abuja today, signalling the end of the first term tenure of Mr. Olorundare Sunday Thomas.
In the account given by NAICOM on the hand over today when the new CFI was welcomed by senior staff the Commission states “Following his arrival, the CFI had an interactive session with the entire Management and Staff of the Commission, during his opening remark he stated the Executive Mgt would set a new tone for the Nigerian Insurance Sector. His predecessor Mr. Olorundare Sunday Thomas who was in attendance to officially handover to the new CFI thanked the staff for their support while in office.
In a positive light, the new CFI is optimistic of achieving a more vibrant Insurance Sector. Furthermore, the CFI noted that the Federal Government mind set to achieve a $1Trillion economy by 2026. With this target set by government for the whole gamut of the economy, Omosehin said the Insurance Sector is expected to play a critical role and contribute to its achievement.
