The Nigerian Corporation of Registered Insurance Brokers is set to join other professional bodies to adorn its documents with the seal of its Council’s professional seal of practice to be used by all registered insurance brokers RIB pushing non registered RIB brokers and charlatans brigade further away from main stream professional broking.
The president, Mr Rotimi Edu disclosed this at a media briefing to herald the 60th anniversary celebration in Lagos “would be affixed to all stationaries and printed materials of our members as a distinctive emblem of professional service and excellence and making our documents admissible in the court of law.
This new front opened by the Council Edu remarked has been received and supported by the Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Sunday Thomas. Another front where the Council and National Insurance Commission and the Council are on common terms is reconciliation of list of insurance brokers with those registered NCRIB and those licenced by NAICOM but not yet on NCRIB register. On account of this, Edu said it “has been quite progressive.”
“With this commitment there would no longer be a hiding place for unethical players,” he noted. Another level of strategic engagement is set on deepening penetration and NCRIB the president said the body is creating avenues for strategic engagement with notable governmental and non-governmental institutions to deepen the industry in the country.
